At the Madison County Soil and Water Conservation District, we prioritize equity and environmental justice by championing fair access to resources and opportunities to all residents of Madison County. Our mission to conserve, protect, and enhance resources for present and future generations means we focus our programming on engaging diverse stakeholders, offering tailored solutions, addressing disparities, and empowering communities through education. Through our outreach programs, conservation planning and continuous monitoring, all residents of Madison County benefit from our natural resources equitably and sustainably.

Madison SWCD adopted its DEIJA Action Plan on March 29, 2024.
5-Year Soil and Water Resource Conservation Plan
Madison County SWCD’s 5-Year Soil and Water Resource Conservation Plan was adopted on March 16, 2022 and approved on April 7, 2022.
Priority Goals:
- Inform the community through outreach and education.
- Conserve, protect, and enhance our SOIL through education, technical and financial assistance, assessment, and practical application of the best conservation practices in agricultural, rural, and urban areas.
- Conserve, protect, and enhance our WATER through education, technical and financial assistance, assessment, and practical application of the best conservation practices in agricultural, rural, and urban areas.
- Conserve, protect, and enhance WILDLIFE HABITAT and LANDSCAPE DIVERSITY through education, technical and financial assistance, assessment, and practical application of the best conservation practices in agricultural, rural, and urban areas.
