Scholarships

For Students Graduating from High School

Conservation Districts of Iowa partners with local Soil and Water Conservation Districts to offer scholarships to graduating high school students for pursuing higher education in fields of study related to conservation and agriculture.

Information about scholarships comes out in December, and applications are due to the local SWCD office in February.

Internships

For College Students and Recent Graduates

The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) supports Summer Internships in SWCDs across the state.  Visit the IDALS website to learn more.

Envirothon

For Students Enrolled in Grades 9-12 / Ages 14-19

Poster Contest

For K-12 Students

The National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD), Conservation Districts of Iowa (CDI), and local SWCDs partner to make the annual Conservation Poster Contest possible.  The contest is open to any child residing in Iowa who is a student in Kindergarten through 12th grade whose school is in a participating SWCD. 

Information about the Poster Contest comes out in January, and posters are due to the local SWCD office in April.
